Final round of New Zealand Women's Open delayed, Brooke Henderson leads

Due to bad weather, the final round of the Mckayson New Zealand Women’s Open has been postponed until Monday. After three weather delays on Sunday due to heavy rain and dangerous conditions, play was finally called at 5:16 pm, local time. That leaves the leader, Brooke Henderson, with 12 holes to play on Monday. Henderson began the round one shot back of Belen Mozo, but birdied three of the six holes she played on Sunday to turn that one-shot deficit into a four-shot lead. Henderson is 17 under and looking for her second win of the season. In June, she won the Meijer LPGA Classic.
Mozo, who took the lead in the second round after shooting 64, which included an ace, will begin her round on Monday at 13 under for the tournament, four back of Henderson. If she were to win, it’d be the 29-year-old's first LPGA title.
Brittany Lincicome is tied with Mozo at 13 under, and like Henderson, she’s looking for her second win of the season.
Two weeks ago, the Evian Championship, the LPGA's final major of 2017, also was hampered by bad weather. Instead of play being pushed to Monday, the event was controversially shortened to three rounds. Just the negative feedback that the LPGA received for that decision impacted this one is unclear. The tour has an off week this coming week so there is no rush to get to another event.
The Monday round at Windross Farm in Auckland will be free to spectators.
