An English golf course has been put up for sale as part of a large-scale fraud case ruling.
Mill Ride Golf Club, a Donald Steele design that opened in 1990, has been put on the market for £4.25 million.
The Berkshire "popular parkland venue," according to Bunkered, was one of several assets forfeited by Zamira Hajieyva, the wife of jailed banker Jahangir Hajieyva. The couple's home in Knightsbridge has been put on the market for £14 million as part of an agreement reached with the National Crime Agency.
The NCA concluded these assets were obtained as a "direct result of large-scale fraud and embezzlement, false accounting and money laundering." Jahangir Hajieyva is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence.
As per the agreement, 70 percent of the funds obtained by a sale will go to the government with the other 30 percent going to Mrs. Hajieyva.
Throughout the six-year investigation, Mill Ride Golf Club has remained opened for both members and non-members.
