Duval is back (for the moment, anyway)
David Duval had rounds of 66 and 69 to open the Valero Texas Open, his best two-round total since shooting 62 and 73 in the second and third rounds of the FBR Capital Open in June of 2003. It marked his best opening 36 holes in a tournament since shooting 67 and 66 to begin the Invensys Classic of Las Vegas in October of 2002.
It is far too premature to conclude from it that Duval has rediscovered his game, for it's only the third cut he's made in 11 starts in 2009 and the first cut he's made in his last seven starts.
