    Danny Lee contending again

    Save for later

Usually more than a single victory is necessary to confer stardom on young golfers, but Danny Lee of New Zealand is threatening to provide bona fide confirmation, albeit in a Nationwide Tour event.

Lee, 19, who two weeks ago won the Johnnie Walker Classic and is the reigning U.S. Amateur champion, is one stroke off the lead early in the fourth round of the HSBC New Zealand PGA Championship.

UPDATE: Lee finished in a tie for seventh, four strokes behind winner Steven Alker.
