Cowboys stay No. 1 in GW/Nike Golf men's poll

    February 23, 2011
    Save for later

Oklahoma State, Guilford and Oklahoma City remained the top teams in the Division I, III and NAIA editions of the Golf World/Nike Golf coaches' poll, while Chico State became the third different D-II program to claim the top spot during the 2010-11 season.

No new teams joined the top 25. Texas made the biggest move, jumping from 11th to sixth after the Longhorns' runner-up finish at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii.

FYI: Voting for the poll closed Feb. 18, so the results from Puerto Rico Classic came too late for voters to consider. [#image: /photos/55ad7308add713143b42480a]|||D-II men's 2:28 issue.jpg|||

North Alabama's 10th-place finish at the Matlock Collegiate Classic caused the squad to fall from No. 1 to No. 4, allowing Chico State to gain the No. 1 ranking.
