Cheat Sheet: Darth Stenson leads, a Molinari sighting, and Vijay's senior debut

    September 20, 2013

__Is Henrik Stenson Darth Vader?__Think about it: They both have nasty tempers (just ask Stenson's Conway Farms locker. Or his driver. Or his long iron.), they're both freakishly competent, and both have reemerged from the precipice of nothingness. Add to that some scary facewear and an elongated weapon, and you've got yourself a match. And did I mention that they're both merciless?

Coming into the Tour Championship at No. 2 in the FedEx Cup standings, Stenson is sitting at 10 under through two rounds and is four strokes ahead of the field going into Saturday (which is scheduled to start earlier than usual to avoid bad weather). There's no arguing that, right now, he's playing the best golf of anyone in the world, and with his foot firmly planted on the neck of his nearest pursuers, it's hard to see that $10 million check heading anybody else's way.

__A Molinari sighting__It wasn't long ago that the Molinari's were dubbed the Williams sisters-to-be by many European golf pundits -- but things haven't exactly panned out that way. This year, Edoardo Molinari has only one Top 10 finish: a second at the rain-shortened Malaysian Open. His brother, Francesco, hasn't finished higher than T-9 in a stroke play event this year, but is tied for first this week at the Italian Open. Let's see if his play on the weekend can inspire a resurgence from the pair.

__Tiger who?__Oh yeah, Tiger Woods. It was weird for him out there on Friday. Really weird. Sitting at five-under through 13 holes and within range of Darth Stenson, Tiger went double bogey-par-bogey-triple bogey-par to finish one over for the day. That means, going into the weekend, the FedEx Cup points leader is engrossed in a battle to not finish dead last. Good luck to him.
