Swing robot confirms this Callaway 3-wood has driver-like tendencies

So your driver just isn’t cutting it, and you need a fairway finder off the tee. But what if you’re not willing to sacrifice significant distance for the short grass? This is where Callaway’s Elyte Triple Diamond 3-wood could fit your list of wants and needs.

The data tells a fascinating story.

We tested all the 2025 3-woods on the Golf Laboratories swing robot and quickly noticed the low-spin Elyte TD possessed several special attributes at average weekend golfer swing speeds (95 mph).

In most cases, a golfer around these speeds might not consider a low-spin offering during testing, but the robot says otherwise.

Let’s start with the above spin chart. As you can see, Elyte TD’s spins weren’t the lowest, but that’s OK.

Sitting around 3,000 to 3,500 RPMs ensures you’ll get enough low spin for distance purposes without going too low where you have to sweat the mishits. This is the kind of spin profile you want to see from a secondary option off the tee.

Having spins on the lower range translates to more ball speed. The low-high ball speed numbers are fairly spread out, which can be attributed to the smaller 3-wood head. But similar to the spin rate chart, the numbers are reliable. You’re losing roughly 4 mph on toe misses and 6 mph on heel misses.

Now compare Elyte TD’s histogram chart to the competition. You’ll notice the ball speed ranges are wider, making it hard to know what’s going to happen in the speed department when you impact the heel or toe.

The carry numbers go in the same direction — they’re consistent and trend higher, with the lowest end of the carry sitting at 207 yards. Only two other 3-woods had a low-end carry of 207, and both are designed to protect distance on off-center misses.

This is why we believe Elyte TD stands out from the pack. The spins are playable, it doesn’t punish your misses and you don’t have to worry about sacrificing endless distance if the driver misbehaves. This one has speed in the tank.

If you’re looking for distance without skimping on forgiveness, Elyte Triple Diamond needs to be in the discussion.
