Reloading!
Caitlin Clark calls another 'mulli' after errant tee shot at the RSM Classic pro-am, is definitely one of us
Last week, Caitlin Clark threatened to break the Internet (and perhaps an eye socket or two) when she pulled her opening tee shot at the ANNIKA pro-am dead left into the gallery. Thankfully, despite the throngs of fans that had gathered to watch her, no one was hurt, and Clark, much like all of us on a chilly fall morning, simply reloaded and went again.
Exactly seven days later at Sea Island, a similar scene repeated itself as Clark made a surprise appearance at the RSM Classic pro-am playing alongside Zach Johnson and PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan. Clark fared a bit better off the opening tee this week, but yanked another tee shot a few holes later, once again calling “mulli.”
Two great things have come out Clark’s high-profile hooks, however. First, we now know her miss and where not to stand the next time she tees it up in one of these events. Second, we feel significantly less bad about throwing down a breakfast ball from time to time. If golf Is hard for an athlete as good as Clark, just imagine how tough it must be for us Joe and Jane Schmoes. Hell, even Max Homa agrees that this is No Big Thing.
So thanks to Clark for providing even more inspiration than she already as. Next time we shank one, maybe that reload won’t feel quite as bad.
