British Open 2021: The incredibly first-world problem that could keep Brooks Koepka from claiming a first claret jug

July 13, 2021

Brooks Koepka is one of the favorites at the 2021 British Open, but he'll be missing a key ingredient this week at Royal St. George's. Actually, he'll be missing the person responsible for his key ingredients.

During a Tuesday press conference that turned out to be an instant classic, Koepka touched (again) on the origins of his beef with Bryson DeChambeau, said he won't be playing with him at the Ryder Cup, and that he doesn't particularly like Royal St. George's. But while gamblers should pay particularly close attention to that last fact, they should also be aware of the following: Koepka's personal chef did not make the trip to England.

We repeat: BROOKS KOEPKA IS WITHOUT HIS PERSONAL CHEF THIS WEEK! Here's him revealing that little tidbit:

"I don't have my chef, so the cooking's definitely not as good," Koepka said. "Me, Rick (caddie), my physio, and my manager Blake, we're trying our best, but it's not as good as she would make it."

The "she" he's referring to is Noel Grob, AKA "Chef Nogee." And both Brooks and fiancee Jena Sims have sang her praises many times in the past.

So will this incredibly first-world problem could keep Koepka from claiming a first claret jug? Probably not, but gamblers should have all the info before making a wager. So, you're welcome. And Brooks, please be careful around the stove.
