Briles-Hinton steps down as Florida women's coach
Jill Briles-Hinton just hit the start button on the off-season coaching carousel with her announcement last night that she has resigned as the Florida women's coach. Unfortunately for the 11-year veteran, the college game can go from good to bad very quickly. Not 13 months ago, the Gators were celebrating an SEC championship. This season they had only four top-five finishes in 11 starts, including a 16th-place showing this past weekend at their home course during the NCAA East Regional.
I've got to believe the Gator job should be a pretty attractive one. The Florida athletic department is among the most well run in the country under athletic director Jeremy Foley.
