Arnold Palmer logo will be prominently featured on Wake Forest field, helmets
Arnold Palmer’s umbrella logo will be a prominent fixture on Wake Forest playing fields and athletic uniforms this year in homage to its most famous alumnus, who died recently.
The logo will debut on BB&T Field for Wake Forest’s football game with Syracuse on Saturday, when the university plans a pregame ceremony honoring Palmer.
Moreover, the Demon Deacons’ football players will have an umbrella sticker on their helmets and will carry a flag with the Palmer umbrella logo when they take the field for the rest of their games this season, ESPN’s Matt Fortuna writes.
Palmer is inextricably linked to Wake Forest. There is a statue of him (the only statue on campus), the golf facility is called the Arnold Palmer Golf Complex and there is an Arnold Palmer Dormitory.
