Ahead of the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, FootJoy has released a limited edition golf shoe that celebrates the landscapes and history of the North Carolina course.

Titled “Red Clay Premiere Series,” the design is an ode to the course’s native geology and an upscale take on the brand’s signature Wilcox model; the midsole features soft rust-hued streaking reminiscent of dugout red clay.

This shoe, which will be seen on FJ players including Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Will Zalatoris and Wyndham Clark, includes a textured navy basketweave saddle, crisp white pebble grain leather, and golf accent hardware. The limited men’s release is only available while supplies last, and as of writing the shoe is available in all sizes.

In terms of traction, the shoe features an enhanced heel cup for added stability and translucent soft spikes for sport and style. FJ connoisseurs will recognize other signature technologies including the plush insole, lambskin linings, and waterproofed treatments, all aimed to deliver modern feel and performance with the vintage, historied, old-school design. The shoe retails at $240.
