Today’s story about a guy trying to sneak into Augusta National is far from the first.
For instance, touring pro Taylor Smith ambled around the home of the Masters in 1985 and even told Golf Digest … much, much later. “I remember looking at the pond at 11—I bet there were 100 golf balls in there,” Smith revealed. “I walked down and my first step almost went up to my kneecap. The first ball I grabbed had Jack Nicklaus’ name on it, and I was like, ‘Man, this is Jack Nicklaus’ ball!’ So I grabbed about five balls, took them as souvenirs.” That was in broad daylight(!) over 40 years ago. Please don’t try this out.
