    On Friday, Joel Beall framed well the central issue facing players at Aronmink:

    How aggressive can you actually get with your approach shots given the treacherous places the PGA of America is placing pins? Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy spoke on Friday, not calling anything unfair, but also not endorsing the set-up. For Saturday’s third round the PGA of America didn’t hold back, again placing pins in nooks and crannies on Aronimink’s greens. The most interesting example for Saturday might be the par-3 eighth hole.
