    There’s a lot to unpack from the Day 1 leaderboard at the PGA Championship,

    but we’ve got four points we can’t keep thinking about courtesy of stats guru Justin Ray:

    1) Seven players tied for the lead is the most of any round of any major in 49 years (1977 U.S. Open).

    2) This is the first time in 27 major starts that Scottie Scheffler is leading or tied for the lead after the first round.

    3) At 21, Aldrich Potgieter is the youngest player to hold a share of the PGA lead since 19-year-old Sergio Garcia in 1999.

    4) 48 players are within three shots of the lead, the most of any round in any major in the modern era
