Barring an historic back-nine turnaround from Mason Howell, none of the six amateurs competing at the Masters will be playing on the weekend.
Ethan Fang and Jackson Herrington were the closest to the cutline, each finishing at eight-over 152 with the cutline expected to fall at four-over 148. The four-shot difference is notable, although not necessarily in a good way. Only once in the last 20 years have no amateurs been farther away from making the cut. In 2021, the closest amateur to the cutline was five shots off.
