    Golf Digest has likely devoted millions of words over the years to better putting.

    Yet a much smaller percentage has been about how to putt better when it counts. The concept might sound maddeningly vague, but as the performance coach Jason Goldsmith describes in this new story on putting “bridge work,” it’s really about players connecting to their target and letting go of their focus on technique. Still not sure what that means? Goldsmith outlines a handful of drills that he works on with his tour player clients, but are simple enough for anyone to try the next time they’ve got a few minutes to spare on a practice green.
