Gary Woodland will be the rooting favorite on Sunday.

Just two weeks ago, Woodland revealed he is battling PTSD following the removal of a brain lesion in 2023. Now, after a Saturday 65 at Memorial Park, Woodland holds a one-shot lead at the Houston Open. Woodland has not won on tour since capturing the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, setting the stage for a potential memorable and emotional 18 holes. “I've just got to take a deep breath,” Woodland said, “and maintain what I’m doing.”
