Gary Woodland's Cobra driver was a weapon during his win at the Houston Open.

As you'd expect for a guy with his speed, it's a unique build specifically designed for one of the best ball-strikers in the world. Woodland plays a modified OPTM Max LS-K prototype—lower CG, slight fade bias, 6.4 degrees of actual loft—a setup that gives him a reliable fairway finder while still letting him unload when the hole calls for it. The 10K driver category spun too much for fast swingers when it first arrived, but spin rates have come down significantly with newer offerings, like OPTM Max-K, making them a legitimate weapon for guys with serious speed. Woodland posted 196 mph ball speed during the win—a number that confirms he has plenty left in the tank.
