Even the best player in the world gets a bad break now and again.

Scottie Scheffler stood 87 yards from the pin Sunday on the sixth hole in the final round of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. He hit a smooth wedge shot for his approach, as you’d expect, but his ball hit the green, smacked the flagstick and rolled back, ending outside 50 feet. He two-putted that for par, but it’s a virtual certainty that his approach would’ve been well inside 10 feet, perhaps even five feet.

To make matters worse for him, Si Woo Kim made birdie there playing in the same group and extended his lead to one over Wyndham Clark and three over Scheffler.
