Ten years ago at the 2016 Open, Andrew "Beef" Johnston became a fan favorite for his everyman, happy-go-luck persona. Since, Johnston has battled injuries, depression and struggles with alcohol, falling off the global golf radar. But Johnston is back and contending at the DP World Tour's Austrian Alpine Open, turning in a second-round 62 to own a three-shot lead halfway through the event. Beef is playing on a medical exemption yet has been posting decent performances in the past few months, including a T-13 at the Soudal Open last week. As for what's spurring the comeback? Yoga, which Beef picked up on a trip to Australia. "I just think my body's been a lot more flexible, day-to-day I’m feeling better and when I came back, I hadn't seen Goughy (coach Jamie Gough) for a year," Johnston explained. "He just said ‘You're moving so much better and the club's in such a better position’ and I think it's a big part to do with that."
