What curse?

No player who has won the Wednesday Par 3 Contest has ever gone on to capture the green jacket in the same year. It’s one of the many reasons why players allow a caddie or family member to attempt a shot on the ninth hole, as it “disqualifies” them from the competition. Apparently that message didn’t get to Aaron Rai—who grabbed Wednesday's contest at six under—as Rai birded three of his first four holes and is nipping at the lead as the afternoon wave goes off.
