"Where's Rory McIlroy? Stand up Rory, will you please."
President Donald Trump introduced the now two-time Masters champion as only he could on Tuesday evening at a White House State Dinner for England's King Charles III. McIlroy was just one of the notable names in attendance, a list that included Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos, Apple CEO Tim Cook, four Supreme Court Justices and Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison, among others. Trump interrupted his speech specifically to heap praise on McIlroy and his "unconquerable" victory at Augusta National earlier this month:
McIlroy won't be in the field at Trump Doral this week for the Cadillac Championship, but that does not appear to have soured the relationship between he and the 45th and 47th POTUS.
