“This is a gem of a public golf course. There are plenty of options off the tee and a wide variety of interesting holes and green complexes. Part of the course runs alongside a housing development and partially near a public high school. The actual architecture of the course is superb for the price. In fact, one of the best values in mid-Michigan from an architecture and design perspective. The greens are heavily contoured and there is immense variety off the tee and approaching the green. The course has drivable par 4s, long par 4s, 2 and 3-shot par 5s. It also has an over 200-yard biarritz green, and a triple-shelved 130-yard par 3. The variety of holes is spectacular as are the features including several double fairways, centerline bunkers, and uphill and downhill drives and approaches and a large fairway tree on the short par-4 9th which requires a risk-reward decision off the tee. This is a course that can be played numerous ways and is conditioned well. There are multiple options around the greens as many of the greens feature large fairway aprons. I think this course is challenging enough for the good players while still being very playable for the everyday golfer. We need more courses like this one."

“Reasonable array of holes, but power lines and housing detract from the experience."
