“Connecticut National is a par 71 in the Northeast corner of Connecticut. CTN was initially Putnam Country Club, an overly tight 6000 yard long creation by Mike and Sally Donovan. After an ownership change, Mark Mungeam was contracted to expand and enhance the existing property. The layout now bares little resemblance to the initial Putnam Country club spanning nearly 7000 yards with generous playing corridors, above average conditions and unfortunately a few of the older greens which are a bit severe for the current green speeds. The course has some degree of awkwardness to it as many of the new tees are a long walk from green to tee and a bit out of place. The staff there is continually trying to improve and deserve credit for a very above average public experience."
