Overview

Playing on land that was once a ranch, Keystone Ranch is a scenic layout about an hour-and-a-half west of Denver. The Robert Trent Jones Jr. design has great variety, with the first couple holes playing in a forest before opening up to a vast expanse, where the fairways are lined with native grasses.

“Mountain scenery on an old working cattle ranch with the requisite barns, pens and implements still in place. Course was in good condition. Long prairie grass used on a few holes to hide line of sight on tee shots."

“Some of the best views anywhere on a golf course. Course has great variety as it starts out in a forest of pine trees and then plays out in a valley of sagebrush and wetlands where an old ranch used to exist and then finishes around a lake."

“In some ways this is the poor relation of the two golf courses at Keystone, but I like it better. It is relatively flat, given the location. In fact I walked it. It is routed nicely in and around some wetlands and with the mountains in view is extremely pretty. If I had ten plays at the resort I play the Ranch seven times."
