Overview

The manageable summer temperatures at high elevation of this par-71 championship golf course allows for guests to experience well-manicured Bentgrass greens all year round. The desert track, known as “Big Wick,” is tucked away in North Phoenix and offers fantastic views of Vulture Peak and Prescott National Forest. Additionally, Wickenburg Ranch is home to a laid-back 9-hole par-3 course nicknamed “Li’l Wick” with hammocks and rest areas located between holes.

“The Big Wick course at Wickenburg Ranch Golf and Social Club presents an excellent challenge for the better golfer. Most holes start with significant downhill tee shots over wild desert terrain, and the fairways are not overly wide. However, the course plays much shorter than the scorecard distance, and a straight driver with a good short game can score here. Most greens have significant level changes, and a wrong-side approach shot coupled with the fast greens can be costly. "

“Nestled north of Phoenix in the mountains amongst the cactus and canyons a fun Troon course worthy of the trip. The fairways bend both left and right and challenge your tee shots to find the short grass. Bentgrass greens have undulations and elevation changes demanding accurate distance control and speed"

“A quality golf course that is always in great condition. An excellent variety of hole designs that require quality shots to score well. There are substantial elevation changes and slope ad undulations on most of the greens. The greens are quick and pay attention to the breaks to putt well. I have always enjoyed playing this course and will go back again."

“Super fun and challenging course. You better pick the right tees or your day will be long. The clubhouse is like no other with a western modern ranch style. The 4 par threes are super challenging as well as the giant UPHILL par 5 ninth hole. A must play if youre in the Phoenix area, or even if youre not it’s worth the drive"
