“Tight and compact, but enjoyable; decent conditioning; nice views of downtown Birmingham."

“How do you follow up a 64 in the final round of the Masters? If you're Jordan Speith, you go with your spring break buddies (Fowler, Thomas, Kaufmann) to Birmingham and see how low you can go at Highland Park. A short course, with a lot of history behind it. It's tight, but since you rarely need more than a long iron or fairway wood off the tee, and a wedge for your approach, it's not especially tough. Great views of downtown from the higher spots around the course. The greens are generally in good condition, but if it's been raining recently, there are some drainage problems that can make the course play longer."

“I wish my hometown offered a great public track like Highland Park. Greens fees have gone up over the years sadly. The course does see it's fair share of foot traffic so if you go when it's not football season expect to wait! It's a short course by todays standards but it's a great place to hone in on your irons and wedges."
