The Verdict: The MD5’s primary objective is providing more spin on the partial shots as you get closer to the green. Rather than traditional vertical-groove walls, the grooves on the higher lofts feature walls that angle away from the base, exposing the edges for better grab.     I could check it or roll it greenside. In the sand or thick rough, the ball comes out effortlessly.

    It goes through the turf well and flights down nicely. It's like you can feel the ball coming off the face just enough.

    What struck me the most was greenside hitting some high, soft pitches—the ball lands noticeably softer than others, like it fell into a pillow and just trickles out. That will get you out of a lot of jams.
