Why We Like It

  • Designed for skilled players with above average swing speeds, the Qi4D Tour’s compact shape and internal weighting (low and forward) deliver high-energy transfer with ultra-low spin.
  • A lightweight carbon-crown and a full titanium body and face save mass for a 60-gram block of tungsten low in the forward part of the sole to push the center of gravity lower and more forward than in Qi35 Tour.
  • This lower center of gravity means this model features slightly higher measured lofts than the Qi35 Tour for higher launch while maintaining lower spin.
  • Three sole weights (a 15 gram and two four grams) can adjust for draws and fades in a TaylorMade fairway wood for the first time since 2007. The 15-gram weight in the back pushes launch higher and adds forgiveness. Shifting the 15-gram weight to the toe protects against a hook, and to the heel minimizes a slice.
  • The sole channel, which helps the face flex on lower impacts, now extends farther toward the toe for even more speed on toe-side strikes.
  • The adjustable hosel tweaks loft by plus/minus 2 degrees, extending the overall loft range of the line from 13 to 23 degrees.
  • Top 5 in Look, low- and high-handicaps
  • 15, 18, 21 degrees (with an eight-way adjustable hosel)

COMMENT SUMMARY

Hot List testers noted a penetrating, mid-to-high launch with unusually low spin and exceptional distance—ball explodes off the face, carries far and rolls out well. The minimalist matte‑gray/all‑black carbon head inspires confidence; sound and impact feel are powerful and energetic. It’s very workable with strong adjustability, tight dispersion and forgiving center strikes, plus a sharp descent for approach shots. One caveat: it rewards high clubhead speed and can be less forgiving for slower swingers.

COMMENT SUMMARY

Hot List panelists observed technology on the sole stabilizes toe/heel strikes and produces pure, high-speed center hits with excellent feedback. The small, very workable head lets players shape shots—high draws or movement both ways—while delivering low spin for wind-fighting and rollout. Launch depended on the player: best for high clubhead speeds (very low-launch/low-spin) though some achieved mid‑high launch and lots of distance. One caveat: it can be demanding off the turf and will punish misses.

COMMENT SUMMARY

Hot List panelists observed a consistently long, penetrating high launch with notably low spin and plenty of roll—explosive ball speed off a minimalist, all‑black carbon head. The club felt light, swift, and highly energetic at impact; adjustability helped with turning it over. Testers praised forgiveness, reliable turf performance from tighter lies, a balanced (non‑distracting) sound, and a clean modern look. One caveat: a few experienced “moon shots” that were hard to bring down on rare swings.

COMMENT SUMMARY

Hot List testers noted a confident, matted‑gray look with a clean alignment aid, a stable, beefy feel and a powerful, very pleasing sound. It consistently delivered notable launch, penetrating mid flight and strong length once dialed in; the sweet spot felt obvious and the head allowed precise workability and ball‑flight control. It initially plays heavy but performs, and while off‑center strikes produced extra sidespin and lower launch, they still held good distance.
