@jacknicklaus On this day in 1969, Team USA Ryder Cup member Jack Nicklaus conceded a putt to Tony Jacklin on the 18th green of Royal Birkdale in the final singles match, leading to the first tie in Ryder Cup history. The Golden Bear’s gesture would become one of the most famous acts of sportsmanship in golf history. “The Concession” eventually inspired the name of an award-winning golf course in Bradenton, FL., designed by Nicklaus, in association with Jacklin.
