Golfers on Instagram
Dustin Johnson (@DJohnsonPGA)DJ is clearly one of the more photogenic pros on the PGA Tour. A fact only emphasized with the recent plethora of photos alongside his girlfriend Paulina Gretzky.
Jessica Korda (@Jessikorda)As one of the younger players on the LPGA Tour, Jessica Korda's Instagram reflects the same fun and youthful exuberance she displays on the course.
Bubba Watson (@BubbaWatsonGolf)Though he doesn't post often, Bubba Watson's instagram -- like his Twitter -- is a bit on the personal side with some notable colorful exceptions. Or in this case, a reminder that the Masters is coming soon.
Ai Miyazato (@Ai_Shorty)Miyazato is a regular on Instagram, with a usual array of beautiful landscapes, food, and fun insights into her life, like this outtake from an LPGA photo shoot.
Belen Mozo (@BelenMozo)The LPGA beauty showed off her outfit from the Greg Norman Collection. "Another boost of color! @gregnormanstyle is doing great for 2013. Super stylish and classy."
Natalie Gulbis (@ngulbis)Gulbis posed in this photo with popular Golf Channel host Holly Sonders (she misspelled her name "Sanders" in the caption).
Cheyenne Woods (@Cheyenne_Woods)Does that intense expression on the course look familiar?
Rickie Fowler (@TheRealRickieFowler)Rickie Fowler is one of golf's biggest fan favorites, and has embraced Twitter to grow his brand over the past two years. So it was only a matter of time before the social-media savvy Fowler joined Instagram, too. His account just opened up in late November, and by early January he's posted more than 200 photos, and gained more than 24,000 followers. (If Rickie didn't have 435,000+ followers on Twitter, this would be more surprising.)
Rickie Fowler (@TheRealRickieFowler)You'll find a bunch of photos from Rickie that give you a glimpse into the life of a tour pro. This was one of our favorites, from the breakfast table at the Franklin Templeton Shootout. This was days after the USGA and R&A announced its proposal to ban anchoring, and Keegan Bradley decided to experiment with his spoon. Not surprisingly, these young tour pros do have a sense of humor.
Rickie Fowler (@TheRealRickieFowler)Off-the-course photos from Rickie's account might be the most fun. This is one he posted from a recent Cobra commercial shoot in early January, nailing a halfpipe on set. You'll get the full gamut with Rickie -- he's a huge motorcross guy, a skater, a music fan. From photos of him and Bubba Watson hanging out with his family in Hawaii before the Tournament of Champions to clowning shots of him shopping with his buddy and popular singer, Kelley James. You get a little of everything with Rickie.
Rickie Fowler (@TheRealRickieFowler)Here's another glimpse at the "life of a tour pro" through Rickie's account. After the World Challenge this December at Sherwood, Rickie posted this picture of him and a bunch of other tour pros hopping on a private jet back to Florida. Oh hey, there's Jason Dufner with his wife, Amanda."
Paulina Gretzky (@PMGypsy)En route to winning the opening Hyundai Tournament of Champions, Dustin Johnson was seen out with Paulina Gretzky at Kapalua. Ever since, golf's newest couple has been a topic of conversation among golf fans (making most of us envious). Paulina, daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, has shared a handful of photos of her and the seven-time tour winner. She's even a golfer, posting a shot of her at the top of her backswing that'd also make many of us envious.
Michelle Wie (@TheRealMichelleWie)Wie's been one of the most talked about LPGA pros for almost a decade now, and she's becoming increasingly popular on Instagram, too. Here's one of her and fellow young star, Lexi Thompson, posing on the back of a camel while in Dubai for the Ladies European Tour event.
Michael Phelps (@m_phelps00)One of history's greatest Olympians is now one of the biggest celebrities who loves golf, and his Instagram feed is full of evidence supporting his new obsession. Included are shots from his summer of golf, including China for the Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am, Chicago for the Ryder Cup celebrity pro-am, and Scotland for the Dunhill Links Championship. Here's a photo he shared from the Old Course's famous Swilcan Bridge with Bill Murray after one of his rounds at the legendary pro-am.
Paula Creamer (@PaulaCreamer1)The Pink Panther is just like the rest of us. After carding a hole-in-one before this year's Kingsmill Championship, she made sure to snap a picture and share it with her followers. We all would do the same, right? Here, some of the LPGA's hottest stars (that's Michelle Wie, Cristie Kerr, Natalie Gulbis and Creamer from left to right) posed in native attire while the LPGA was in Asia. The Pink Panther is arguably the biggest Instagram user in golf. You can expect an almost daily post from Creamer and when she's not posting photos of her dog or her latest hairstyle, you'll catch a cool shot of her on the course, range or with fellow golf stars.
Kelly Slater (@KellySlater)Slater's photos of his extreme lifestyle make him a stellar Instagram follow (his 211,000 followers agree), but the world-class surfer is a golf fanatic, too. Here's a shot he took of boxing legend Oscar de la Hoya rocking a giant foam sombrero during the American Century Golf Championship pro-am this year.
Lexi Thompson (@Lexi)As one of the LPGA's brightest and flashiest young stars, the recent high-school graduate naturally gets the benefits of growing her brand on Instagram. Lexi posts frequently from the course, sharing a range of cool shots of her on the driving range or posing with Tiger Woods at this year's Notah Begay Challenge. We enjoyed this one Lexi shared in September. In Alabama to defend her Navistar LPGA Classic title, Lexi stopped at a Waffle House that had shown its support for the teen star.
Deron Williams (@DWill8)One of the NBA's biggest stars is a golf junkie like the rest of us. You'll find a bunch of golf posts on the Team USA point guard and Brooklyn Nets star's Instagram feed, including some from a recent trip to Pacific Dunes and this one from pristine Liberty National.D-Will recently told us he's an 8-handicap, despite only having picked up golf five years ago.The sharp-shooter has a knack for golf photography, too. From both PGA Tour pro-ams he played in this year, Williams shared near-perfect shots of Bubba Watson and Charles Howell III at the top of their backswings.
Morgan Pressel (@MPressel)Another LPGA star who uses Instagram frequently, Pressel's constantly updating her fans on charity events and recent tournaments. It's indicative of her passion for charitable causes, as she's been since she came up in the LPGA as a teenager. And some are just fun representations of her personality, like this one from a recent Golf Channel shoot.
Ben Crane (@BenCraneGolf)Golf's biggest goofster uses Instagram to show off his dynamic personality, too. Included on his feed are behind-the-scene shots of his Golf Boys band, and this one seen here, him posing with a billboard he spotted of himself en route to the CIMB Classic.
George Lopez (@GeorgeLopez)The comedian isn't a huge Instagram user, but his small sampling does include some nice golf shots. Lopez shared this one of the Ben Hogan statue standing at Colonial, showing his appreciation and knowledge of the game's history.
Mike Tyson (@MikeTyson)We wish Tyson would play more golf, but the boxing legend does dabble every once in a while. This is a shot from the WWE Wrestle Mania Charity Golf Tournament. Jeans? C'mon, bro. This isn't a walk around the park with your pigeons ...
Anna Rawson (@AnnaRawson)Call us selfish, but including Anna Rawson on this list is a must.In 2010, Golf Digest did a series of instruction photoswith the golf model and player. This is one outtake from our own Walter Iooss Jr. If you're a fan of this photo, you won't regret making her a follow on Instagram. (How does she have less than 700 followers?!)
