CLOSE TO HOMEI moved to Scottsdale for golf. But to stay connected to my hometown of Fresno, Calif., my wife, Elizabeth, and I have my charity benefit the Children's Hospital Central California.

PICKING UP STICKSI'm not someone who tinkers a lot with his clubs. Once Mike Taylor (Nike's club craftsman) found the right combo for my wedges, I haven't changed them one bit.
DRIVER
specs: Nike Vapor Pro, 9.5 degree, Aldila Rogue X-flex shaft, 75 grams, just under 45 inchesIt wasn't hard switching drivers. After testing clubs, I found my optimal ball flight using the same specs in my Covert driver. This has a similar-looking head, but I'm more accurate with it.
FAIRWAY WOODS
specs: Nike Vapor Speed, 15 and 19 degrees, Aldila Tour Blue shafts (3-wood: 85 grams, 5-wood: 95 grams)On par 5s it was rare for me to hit 3-wood on my second shot. But I launch this model high, so I can stop it easier. I put both in play in October.
IRONS
specs: Nike Vapor Pro Combo 3-iron, Vapor Pro 4- through 9-iron, True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shaftsThe thin topline and classic look of these irons are similar to my old irons, so it was easy to change.
WEDGES
specs: Nike VR X3X (46 degree), Nike VR Pro Dual Sole (54 degree), Nike VR Pro (60 degree), True Temper Dynamic Gold S400 shaftsI've played these the past four years. I love the soft feel.
PUTTER
specs: Nike Method pro-totype, 33 inches, 2.5 degree, 72 degree lie angleThe guys at Nike made me this putter, which is a close match to the model I used when I first turned pro. I switch between a SuperStroke grip and a pistol version.
It's line timeBefore I start my days at the course, I'll mark my Nike RZN Platinum balls with a black line. It has become part of my routine.
Heavy competitionThis is a ball marker from Whisper Rock. It's one of the places we play in Scottsdale. I'll tee it up with other pros there such as Chez Reavie, Geoff Ogilvy, Bryce Molder or Kevin Stadler.
Protect and serveThis is Champ, my charity's mascot. Using this headcover is a symbol of my passion for giving back. You, too, can support Kevin Chappell Champion for Children's by buying your own Winning Edge Designs headcover.
