Traveling to play golf isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Wheeling that hulking travel bag around crowded airports can be brutal, but how about after you check it? Dan Brooks, head coach of the defending NCAA champion Duke women's team, has traveled with a lot of golf bags over the years. He says his players and most of the teams they compete against use soft-sided travel bags. His advice: "Make sure you wrap towels, clothes and whatever you can around the heads of your clubs." He recalls one unfortunate day when his team watched an airport employee stand on a stack of golf bags (in their travel covers) to reach other luggage. Brooks suggests once you finish packing your clubs, look at your case and ask yourself, Would I be OK having someone stand on this? Here are our Gold and Silver picks to keep your clubs safe.
