“Two Rivers CC is located on the James River in Williamsburg, VA. The course has very large bermuda greens that are relatively firm, receptive to good shots and roll very true. The bermuda fairways had good roll out and provided perfect lies. In addition, the bunkers were well placed and in excellent condition. The 4 Par 3s varied in length and direction. In particular the 4th and 14th holes were well protected and required precise shots. Being able run the ball in from right to left on the longer 14th is a plus. The Par 5s are all somewhat short but require well placed shots. The sharp doglegged right #3 makes the hole play longer. The Par 5 16th requires a tee shot across a ravine and then plays straight to river. The Par 4s vary in length and have some very good short holes with risk reward. The 424 yard uphill dogleg left 1st hole is excellent as is the 430 yard 2nd hole that requires a precise 2nd shot. Really liked the short Par 4 sidehill 8th hole that has good risk/reward. The finishing 3 holes are all on the river with great views. While relatively flat, the course had some nice subtle elevation changes."

“Fun golf course with fast greens that have lots of slope to them. Several drivable par 4s that offer many options of how to play them and the 4 par 3s all require different irons/plays off the tee. Conditions were ideal (firm and fast) and the wind on the last 3 holes poses a nice challenge along with some spectacular views along the river. Definitely one to add to your list if you are in Williamsburg and can get on."

“A solid course weaving through, but not smothered by a residential community. The last three holes along the James River are spectacular, with the first 15 holes doing reasonable job of getting you to that point with a good variety of par-threes and a couple of interesting short par-fours."

“Two Rivers Country Club is a Tom Fazio design that winds through marshes and a housing development along the James River near Williamsburg. The last three holes with views of the James are great; the other 15 really tend to blend together. The par 3s are generally quite good and present a nice variety of shots. As there are short and long holes (at least one reachable par 4 and par 5), the layout variety is excellent. The topography is flat, of course, given the location, so the property is quite walkable, with only a few longer treks from green to tee. The wide fairways and huge greens could make this a bombers delight, but missing the greens left/right/long presents real challenges, with deep sand and grass bunkers, coupled with Bermuda rough making recovery shots difficult. The greens’ sections are separated by gradual transitions—the breaks on the greens are broad rather than subtle, which is suitable given their size. Two Rivers is not a special Fazio design. I’m sure it’s a fun, members course to play. You do spend most of the round navigating through backyards in a housing development, and though the houses are not intrusive, they are omnipresent. Still, the character of an eastern Virginia marshland course has some appeal, and the last three holes are terrific."

“Holes 16-18 incorporate water into play beautifully from an aesthetic and challenge perspective. Many sand traps have been turned into grass collection areas, but the bunkers that exist are filled with plush sand. Greens are fairly slow but relatively pure."

“One of the nicest courses I've played in VA--superb greens, great condition overall; great variety of holes, last 3 along the water are better than Kingsmill. Play this course if you can!"
