Mukul Resort Nicaragua: Guacalito de la Isla

Set on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast within the private reserve of Guacalito de la Isla, the David McLay Kidd golf course winds between tropical forest and the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. Opened in 2013, Kidd's intention was for his design to blend in with the land rather than overpower it, offering sweeping views and a strong sense of place. Built with preservation in mind, hundreds of native trees were relocated, and the course was planted with sustainable Paspalum grass suited to coastal conditions. More than 100 local craftsmen helped create it, many of whom still maintain it today.
