Overview
The Castle Hume Course at Lough Erne, the predecessor to the Faldo course (2009), was designed by John Carroll and opened in 1991. The course has played host to 10 Ulster PGA Championships since it opened and has been widely recognized for its manicured fairways and lush playing conditions. The Castle Hume Course is routed through the scenic Old Ely Estate and showcases 7,000 trees and 30 bunkers that frame the vibrant green holes. The course can be challenging as long and narrow water hazards require accuracy from the back tees, while harsh slopes and undulating greens put quality iron play and putting at a premium.
