Overview
Set on an old citrus grove in Vero Beach, Quail Valley Golf Club opened in 2001 under the collaborative design of Tom Fazio II and Nick Price. The course boasts an adventurous layout utilizing the land’s slopes and undulations, along with expansive water hazards in play on 13 holes. Open driving zones are visually shrunk by bunkers and hazards, while putting surfaces have tricky slopes that feed into difficult runoff areas. The best of Quail Valley is on display during the finishing stretch, which features the long par-3 16th with water in the backdrop, the dogleg par-4 17th hugging the nearby lake and the uphill par-4 18th that plays up to the stunning Hamptons-style clubhouse.

“The area had received a lot of rain in recent weeks, consequently the course was walking only. It provided an excellent opportunity to see the course in a way a cart would not have afforded me. The elevation changes; the routing of the holes and the variety of the holes was fantastic. From a downhill first hole to the split fairway, risk reward par 5 third hole, the round began in spectacular fashion and ended with a four hole stretch of par 4, par 3, par 4, par 4 that are unmatched in the south/central Florida area. There were plenty of interesting holes in between, but the final four holes left a lasting impression of how special of a track Quail Valley truly is. The greens were very receptive due to the rain and the fairways were soft, but the contours of both were evident and one could see how the course would play under ideal conditions. Each hole offered different shot options and although it felt like 15 of the 18 holes were into the wind, the routing of the course utilized all aspects of the property and the holes were laid out in all different directions. Quail Valley is a course that exudes character throughout and affords a golfer to be in an oasis amongst farm land."

“Wide open, large golf course footprint surrounded by excavated lakes in the cattle flat lands of Vero Beach. It's a unique experience and always a well conditioned golf course that provides many risk/rewards over the lakes and tougher approaches around the greens with deep bunkers, grass or sand. “Fun golf course that is seemingly always in great condition. The golf course isn't difficult and can be enjoyed by a wide variety of players. The course is very accommodating to those who struggle to carry the ball long distances and the greens are very approachable from different angles. The caddie program is nice for the first time through. Course gets heavy member play during the times I've visited but pace of play is outstanding. Great back porch for a post round beverage and watching groups come up the 18th hole. Not outstanding, but I wouldn't turn an invitation down."
