“Built in 1912 the SGCC is one of the oldest courses in Southern California. A "parkland" style course that plays within "over 1000 trees" as it winds its way around the homes within the club, Located in the San Gabriel foothills, the course offers an excellent walk but rates lower in shot options and challenge due to its shortish length of 6500 yards from the back tees. Fairways are consistent and roll out to a "medium level" of firmness. This is likely due to a slight over watering to maintain the green / parkland look and feel. Bunkers and greens are well maintained, however the day that we played, the greens were slowish and did not roll out nor were they consistent from front to back. Overall I believe that SGCC is a mid-level course."

“Very old school feel to the course and clubhouse. Service and food is excellent. Course itself looks simple, but can sneak up and bite you"
