We did the math on Bubba Watson's "one or two" burritos a day claim, and it's so unhealthy

Bubba Watson was on Jimmy Fallon's talk show on Monday night, and aside from getting pied in the face multiple times, Bubba also revealed his super-secret diet that helped him to his second green jacket last year.

"Last year, 2014, my wife was there this time. I was like 'I'm going back to the burritos.' So I had burritos for another 10 days straight, one or two a day. I won again so I think we're going to do that again."

Mildly alarmed by that claim, we decided to crunch the numbers:

According to a recent New York Times article, the standard Chipotle burrito order usually contains about 1,000 calories -- half of people's recommended daily dietary allowance and all of their daily recommended sodium intake. If he actually ate, as he claims, about 15 in the span of 10 days, that's 15,000 calories worth of burritos.

To put that in perspective: A 150-pound person needs to run about nine miles in 90 minutes to burn a little more than 1,000 calories. So if Bubba wanted to burn off all those burritos in the 10 days after he ate them, he'd need to forgo food completely and run about 13.5 miles a day for 10 straight days at a pretty quick pace. And that's not even including a guacamole side!

In any case, he's off to a hot start again this year.
