When Justin Thomas visited the Golf Digest offices in August, just a couple months before his second win at the CIMB Classic in consecutive years, he said of his putter, “Whether it’s been good or bad, you always want to have your putter on your side. It’s a love/hate relationship at times with the putter, but most of the time it needs to be love.”

Thomas was using a blade-style Scotty Cameron putter at the time, but the love soon wore off.

At the Barclays, he changed to a mallet-style Scotty Cameron by Titleist Futura X5 prototype (the putter features a flow neck made for Thomas). The CIMB Classic champ used that putter in Malaysia and ranked fourth in putts per green in regulation, aided by a 33-foot bomb he made at the 17th hole in the final round.
