Watch Jimmy Walker hole out from a bunker right when he really needed it

July 31, 2016

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Jimmy Walker has had both the enviable and unenviable position of leading the PGA Championship from the first day here at Baltusrol Golf Club. The good part of that should be apparent. The hard part comes when everyone's chasing you in the final round and you have yet to make a birdie.

After finding the bunker on the par-4 10th hole, Walker seemed to waver over what type of shot he wanted to hit, likely knowing a misstep would have dropped him out of the lead as he vied for his first major title. Instead, Walker did this:

The birdie gave Walker a brief two-shot lead, and perhaps more importantly, provided him some momentum into the most important stretch of golf of his career. In fact, he responded with a birdie on the 11th as well to remain two shots ahead of Jason Day.
