Watch Jason Day drain a 74-foot(!) putt to tie for the lead at Baltusrol

July 31, 2016

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Some fans watching a replay of last year's PGA Championship thought Jason Day won another Wanamaker Trophy on Saturday. Perhaps, that will actually happen on Sunday -- and if it does, this putt will have something to do with it.

Finally getting his third round underway on Sunday, the Aussie parred his first five holes before hitting a disappointing approach shot on the par-4 sixth to the front of the green. Then, he did this from 74 feet:

The putt moved Day into a share of first with overnight leaders Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb. A little later, Day birdied the par-3 ninth to take sole possession of the lead.

Last year, Day made a long birdie putt at Whistling Straits' seventh hole on his way to claiming the Wanamaker Trophy. Remember this?

On second thought, we'll stick to this year's highlights. We don't want to confuse anymore people.
