After an impressive return at the Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods has made his first commitment for 2017. The 40 year old will play at Riviera Country Club for the Genesis Open.

"I'm very excited to come back to Riviera and compete in the Genesis Open," Woods said. "This is where it all started for me. It was my first PGA TOUR event. I was 16 years old, I weighed about 105 pounds. It was a life-changing moment for me."

This isn’t a surprise. Woods’ foundation is the new host of the event formerly known as the Northern Trust Open. However, this doesn't necessarily mean this will be the next time we see Tiger tee it up (the Genesis begins on February 16th). Events on Woods' radar include the Farmers Insurance Open (Jan. 26-29 and held at Torrey Pines, where Woods has won eight times), the Waste Management Phoenix Open (Feb. 2-5), the European Tour’s Omega Dubai Desert Classic (Feb. 2-5) and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (Feb. 9-12).

Before his appearance at the Hero World Challenge, Woods' last official PGA Tour event was the 2015 Wyndham Championship in August. Woods hasn't won on tour since 2013.
