The time that David Letterman tried golf (it didn't take)

October 02, 2014

Comedian Tom Dreesen is an avid golfer and a regular in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. David Letterman is neither. The latter announced that he would retire next year, but he isn't likely doing so to make time for golf.

Dreesen befriended Letterman when both were working at the Comedy Store in Hollywood in the 1970s. Through the years, the two played a lot of racquetball together. One day in 1987 Dreesen decided to introduce Letterman to golf, as he recounts in this Facebook post on Throwback Thursday:

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); [#facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10205064472434735&set=a.1630259719636.2090016.1330908631&type=1]
