Here's a sentence I haven't written (or heard) in a while: A new luxury golf resort is opening this week.

That's right. The Verdura Golf & Spa Resort in Sicily, Italy -- a project that's been seven years in the making -- is the work of British hotelier Sir Rocco Forte. It features 45 golf holes designed by Kyle Phillips, the American architect behind Kingsbarns in Scotland and the Grove outside London. Here's a link to the London Times article on the opening.

Forte operates 13 high-end hotels, most in the U.K. and Europe. Next year he plans hotels in Abu Dhabi and Jeddah and another golf and spa resort in Marrakesh, the Times reports.
