Jim Furyk set a PGA Tour record by shooting a 12-under-par 58 Sunday at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands—the second time in his career that Furyk has broken the 60 barrier. Furyk’s bag contained 13 clubs from Callaway/Odyssey and a Titleist sand wedge.

Always known as a superior driver of the ball, Furyk’s Callaway Great Big Bertha driver is set to a neutral directional bias and standard loft adjustability. The adjustable perimeter weighting also is set close to the neutral setting. According to Callaway tour reps, Furyk says he likes the look, and his start lines on his shots are very good. He first put the driver in play last year, and has been very pleased with the ball flight and how easy the shotmaking has been with this driver. And he likes that his draws and fades have been consistent. Furyk also has been using the company’s Chrome Soft ball, which Furyk says gives him added control off his short irons and wedges, as well as on shots around the greens.
