Style For Her: Embrace those pops of color

June 06, 2014

Too many of us fear color. We think black is slimming and easy and foolproof. But guess what? It's also boring. To really celebrate summer, you've gotta embrace color. It's fun!

This outfit started with the Nike Lunar Empress shoes ($100). I feel like whenever you're planning to wear something so loud, you've got to build the rest of your outfit around it. Since the shoes say enough, I wanted the rest of the outfit to be a bit tamer. So I paired it with a navy blue Adidas Climalite Solid Jersey Sleeveless polo ($45), which has a flattering cut, and a blueish-purple RLX Ace Skort ($98). This skort has two deep front pockets (a great bonus!) and a back pocket. Since it's still chilly in the mornings and evenings, I chose to complete the look with the RLX Radical Half-Zip Mock Neck. This pullover will roll out in stores later this month, and I love that it's tame enough to match any outfit, but that it also has those pops of bright green and pink. Oh, and those wayfarer shades, which I bought at the Gap last summer, are just so much fun. Here's to color.

I've been posting an outfit a week since Memorial Day. Here's last week's outfit, and here are the first two outfits.
