Slow Play Warning?

August 21, 2009

SUGAR GROVE, Ill.-- The first group of the day just made the turn in exactly three hours. Sure, it's four-ball, and sure, it's the first morning of the competition, but at this pace, the upcoming afternoon foursome matches will be done in time for Saturday's breakfast.

The captains of each team are due to file their line-ups for said afternoon matches in half an hour, long before the morning session will be close to finished. They'll have to do some educated guessing to come up with the best pairings. [#image: /photos/55ad91f1b01eefe207f760d5]|||GDWslowPlay.jpg|||Europe's Sophie Gustafson and Suzann Pettersen are taking their time in the first match of the day, and it's working: they lead Cristie Kerr and Paula Creamer 1-up.

Meanwhile, the scores keep a-changing (for live updates, click here). Currently, Europe leads three matches and the U.S. leads one.
