Canadian Mackenzie Hughes extended his lead to two shots in the RSM Classic on Friday, after posting a five-under par 67 on the Plantation Course at the Sea Island (Ga.) Resort.

Hughes, who led by one after shooting a nine-under par 61 on the Seaside Course in the first round, had a second-consecutive bogey-free round.

“It’s been a really fun two days,” he said. “I’m just really excited for the challenge this weekend and seeing where my game stacks up and handling the pressure. But you want to be in this spot, so I’m excited.

Cheng Tsung Pan of Taiwan shot a 64 on the Seaside Course and is in second place, two strokes back. Pan, who played college golf at the University of Washington, is a PGA Tour rookie.

Hudson Swafford, Blayne Barber, Chad Campbell and Chesson Hadley are tied for third, three strokes back. Swafford made the cut for the 17th straight time, which ranks fourth among active players.
